Boston Scientific

Explore a curated glimpse into my impactful UX journey at Boston Scientific.

Transitioning from my role as Principal Product Designer, where I spearheaded a new e-commerce experience, to User Experience Manager at Boston Scientific, I’ve delivered impactful design solutions tailored for Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and customers, cultivating a dynamic path of growth and innovation. My portfolio highlights a curated selection of work samples and insights, primarily from projects I directly led, as well as those I influenced through mentorship, covering user research, e-commerce improvements, design system creation, and strategic explorations.

These efforts reflect my commitment to simplifying complex interactions and empowering design teams to deliver user-centered solutions that enhance clinical and financial outcomes.

HCP UX Research Project

The Mission: to learn the details of how different types of Healthcare Professionals desire to learn about MedTech devices.

In this specific study, my role included concept development,  influence multi division buy in and funding, study design, engaging stakeholders to gather input and necessary artifacts, hiring an agency to assist with the specialized recruitment of healthcare professionals and co-manage that process, directing wireframing, layout, and prototyping activities, legal approvals, leading definition of moderation guides, conducting interviews, compiling annotations, analyzing data, leading discussion on interpretation of data to avoid misreadings, coordinating recommendations, and presenting the study’s findings to various parts of the organization. This Healthcare Professional (HCP) Experience research provided many fruitful, useful, and, at times, difficult-to-hear learnings. This study helped us guide conversations to a more user centric approach thru our organization.

Here is a few examples of learning topics that came out of the study:

  • Clarified two distinct phases of HCP relationship with a product.
  • Defined heuristics for four HCP types and their web utilization patterns.
  • Identified differences in HCP behavior by age group.
  • Evaluated overall usability of key pages and components.
  • Uncovered overlap between eCommerce and .com platforms.
  • Provided guidance for Anatomy Design System on future header and menu components.
  • Recommended consolidation, standardization, and content structures for flagship marketing pages.
  • Highlighted importance of progressive reveal sequence for clinical data.
  • Distinguished indispensable content from optional content.
  • Established guidelines for optional content.
  • Outlined three distinct roles videos play in HCP decision-making for device use.

Boston Scientific’s Testimonials

My tenure at Boston Scientific was a transformative period, allowing me to not only apply my extensive UI/UX design skills broadly but also significantly grow in the UX research field, discover the joy of managing a design team, and gain deep insights into the healthcare field—its intersections with other business lines and its unique challenges.

I can’t fully capture the breadth of my experience at Boston Scientific here, so below is a broad, non-exhaustive list of projects I had the privilege of designing, leading or managing:

During my time at Boston Scientific, I experienced my first layoff, a challenging but formative moment in my career. Fortunately, I was quickly recruited for two consecutive contract roles by former colleagues from different companies—first at Constant Contact and then at Bausch + Lomb. I’m deeply grateful for their support. The work from both contract engagements will be featured on this website soon—stay tuned for updates.

Thank you

and kudos to my colleagues at Boston Scientific.
